Dublin Bus will operate a weekday service on all routes, with last departures scheduled around 9:00 PM. Please note that Nitelink services, City Tours, and Ghostbus Tours will not operate on Christmas Eve.
Christmas Day – Wednesday, 25th December 2024
There will be no Dublin Bus services running on Christmas Day.
St. Stephen’s Day – Thursday, 26th December 2024
A Sunday service will operate on all routes. However, Nitelink services, City Tours, and Ghostbus Tours will not be available. Key routes such as 15, 39A, 41, C1, C2, C5, C6, G1, G2, and N4 will have early departures starting from 5:00 AM.
Friday, 27th December 2024
A Saturday service will be in place, with additional early morning departures on some routes. A full Nitelink service will operate alongside the regular 24-hour services. City Tours and Ghostbus Tours will resume.
Saturday, 28th December 2024
A standard Saturday service will run across all routes. Nitelink and 24-hour services will operate as usual, and City Tours and Ghostbus Tours will be available.
Sunday, 29th December 2024
A Sunday service will be in operation on all routes.
Monday, 30th December 2024
A Saturday service will operate, including additional early morning departures. Full Nitelink services and 24-hour routes will also be running, alongside City Tours and Ghostbus Tours.
New Year’s Eve – Tuesday, 31st December 2024
A Saturday service will run, with extra early morning departures. Full Nitelink services and 24-hour routes will operate, as will City Tours and Ghostbus Tours.
New Year’s Day – Wednesday, 1st January 2025
A Sunday service will be in place. Nitelink, City Tours, and Ghostbus Tours will not operate on this day.
Additional Festive Services
To accommodate the holiday demand, Dublin Bus is providing extra services:
- 45 additional departures on popular routes like the 41 (to Dublin Airport) and the 39A (to Ongar).
- Extended Nitelink services on extra dates, including 12th, 19th, 22nd, 23rd, 30th, and 31st December 2024, offering greater convenience for late-night travelers.
Irish Rail Christmas Schedule
Christmas Eve – Tuesday, 24th December 2024
Irish Rail will operate a weekday InterCity service, with last departures scheduled between 6:00 PM and 8:30 PM. DART and Commuter services will run a normal Saturday service until approximately 9:00 PM.
Christmas Day – Wednesday, 25th December 2024
There will be no train services on Christmas Day.
St. Stephen’s Day – Thursday, 26th December 2024
Train services will also remain suspended on St. Stephen’s Day.
New Year’s Eve – Tuesday, 31st December 2024
Irish Rail will operate a weekday InterCity service, with some route cancellations and alterations. Due to engineering works, Rosslare services will operate as bus transfers between Dublin Connolly and Bray, with trains running only between Bray and Rosslare.
New Year’s Day – Wednesday, 1st January 2025
A reduced Sunday service will operate across DART, Commuter, and InterCity routes.
