In a surprising turn of events, Ava Kris Tyson, a regular co-host on YouTube megastar MrBeast’s channel, has announced her departure following serious grooming allegations. Despite Tyson’s denial, the accusations have led to significant repercussions within the YouTube community.

Ava Kris Tyson, who frequently appeared on MrBeast’s YouTube channel—the platform’s largest with 306 million subscribers—has carved out a substantial following of her own, amassing over 22,000 subscribers. However, recent allegations have cast a shadow over her rising fame.

The controversy erupted last month when allegations emerged accusing Tyson of sending inappropriate messages to a minor who was reportedly 13 years old at the time, while Tyson was 20. Tyson has vehemently denied these claims but decided to step away from her role and social media presence to focus on her family and mental health. She described the decision as mutual.

In a statement posted on X, Tyson asserted, “I have never groomed anyone,” while also apologising for her past behaviour. The allegations have prompted MrBeast—real name Jimmy Donaldson—to take swift action.

Donaldson addressed the situation on X, expressing his dismay at the allegations and outlining his response. “Over the last few days, I’ve become aware of the serious allegations regarding Ava Tyson’s behaviour online and I am disgusted and opposed to such unacceptable acts,” he stated. Donaldson has engaged independent third-party investigators to thoroughly examine the matter and has decided to sever ties with Tyson in the interim.

He continued, “During that time, I have been focused on hiring an independent third party to conduct a thorough investigation to ensure I have all the facts. That said, I’ve seen enough online and taken immediate action to remove Ava from the company, my channel, and any association with MrBeast. I do not condone or support any of the inappropriate actions.”

Donaldson emphasised his commitment to a comprehensive investigation, promising further actions based on the findings.

Tyson, who came out as transgender last year and began gender-affirming therapy, had recently been using she/her pronouns. The allegations and her subsequent departure mark a significant upheaval in her journey, impacting her role in one of YouTube’s most prominent channels.
