In a remarkable display of bravery and expertise, Marine veteran and licensed alligator trapper Mike Dragich, known as the “Blue Collar Brawler,” was captured on video wrestling a six-foot alligator barefoot on the median of Interstate 95 near Jacksonville, Florida. The incident occurred on April 28, 2025, when the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, in coordination with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and the Florida Highway Patrol, responded to reports of an alligator obstructing traffic.

Wearing only a camouflage muscle shirt and shorts, Dragich approached the reptile with a pole, skillfully maneuvering it before jumping on its back and securing its jaws. The dramatic scene unfolded amidst ongoing traffic, highlighting both the danger and the necessity of swift action.

Dragich later shared the video on his Instagram account, humorously captioning it, “Why did the alligator cross the road?” The footage quickly went viral, amassing millions of views and drawing widespread attention to Dragich’s daring feat.

Beyond his alligator-wrangling exploits, Dragich is deeply committed to supporting fellow veterans. He founded Project Savior Outdoors, a nonprofit organization dedicated to combating veteran suicide through outdoor activities like hunting and fishing retreats.
