Cork Opera House: Rescheduled Due to a Serious Illness
The Cork Opera House has announced changes to its schedule for the beloved pantomime “Cinderella”.
Two performances, originally planned for yesterday at 2 pm and 7 pm, have been rescheduled due to a serious illness in a key cast member’s immediate family. The shows will now take place at 5 pm today and 7 pm on January 1.
CEO Eibhlín Gleeson expressed sincere regret for the inconvenience and reassured patrons that their tickets remain valid for the new dates. Those unable to attend are encouraged to contact the box office for alternative arrangements. The pantomime, which has received rave reviews, will continue its run until January 19, with tickets starting at €25.
In other Cork Opera House news, Cork’s own John Spillane has released his ambitious double concept album, “Fíoruisce – The Legend of the Lough”. This folk opera, inspired by the 19th-century fairytale “Fior-usga,” weaves Irish mythology and folklore into a captivating musical narrative. Spillane describes the project as his magnum opus, celebrating his passion for Irish storytelling and language!
