Looking ahead to Monday, July 27th, we're expecting a mostly cloudy day. Rain and drizzle will affect the northern half of the country, with the northwest seeing the most persistent downpours. Further south and southeast, it will be drier, with only patchy drizzle and a few brighter intervals. Highest temperatures for Monday are forecast to be between 16 and 23 degrees, with the south again enjoying the warmest conditions. Moderate southwest breezes will be present throughout the day.

A Glimpse at the Week Ahead: Warm, Humid, and a Bit Mixed

Tuesday will continue this warm and humid trend. Expect more outbreaks of rain and drizzle, again most persistent across Ulster and Connacht, and patchier elsewhere. The mercury will climb to between 19 and 25 degrees, with the east likely to be the warmest. Moderate, occasionally fresh, southwest winds will add to the humid feel.

Wednesday will keep us in the warm, humid, and mostly cloudy conditions. There will be patchy rain or drizzle in the morning, with some heavier showers developing through the afternoon, evening, and night. These heavier showers are particularly likely over Ulster, Connacht, and the midlands. Highest temperatures will range from 18 to 25 degrees, with the east once again being the warmest. Light to moderate southwest winds will persist.

By Thursday, we're looking at mostly cloudy skies with some rain or drizzle at times. It will feel a bit cooler and fresher compared to the earlier part of the week, with moderate westerly breezes. Highest temperatures will be between 16 and 23 degrees.

Friday and Saturday are expected to bring more bright or sunny spells, interspersed with some showers. And if you're already planning for next weekend, Sunday, August 2nd, currently looks like being mainly dry, with temperatures mostly in the high teens and low twenties.
