Ireland’s Weather: Hot & Sunny for Tuesday 7 July
Summer has definitely arrived, and we're certainly not complaining. For Tuesday, July 7th, Ireland's weather forecast looks quite warm, with plenty of sunshine across most of the country. If you've been hoping for those long, bright days, you're in luck, especially if you're in the south or east.

Here's what Met Éireann is predicting for today and the rest of the week.
Today's Ireland Weather: Tuesday 7th July
This morning began with some cloud, particularly in the north and west. We even had a bit of drizzle and mist lingering there. But don't worry, the sunny spells that started in the south and southeast will spread much further as the morning turns into the afternoon.
However, a note for those on the west and northwest coasts: it seems the cloud might stick around longer for you. While others enjoy the warmth, you might find it a bit cooler.
For most, it will be a very warm day. Expect temperatures to reach between 22 and 28 degrees Celsius. That's proper summer weather, by any standard. If you're under persistent cloud cover in the west and northwest, temperatures will be a more moderate 17 to 20 degrees. Winds will be light to moderate, coming from the west, which should keep things pleasant.
So, if you're making plans, consider getting outside and enjoying the sunshine. Pack sunscreen, stay hydrated, and make the most of it. Whether you're heading to a park, a beach, or just having coffee outdoors, the Ireland weather forecast gives us a good reason to be outside.
Tonight's Outlook
As Tuesday evening transitions into night, most of the country will stay dry. We're expecting clear spells, which means some lovely views of the night sky, but also the chance of mist and fog patches forming. These clear spells are always nice after a warm day.
The cloudier conditions from the day will remain in the west and north, bringing a few isolated drizzle patches. Later, cloud will start to increase from the west, hinting at tomorrow's weather. Temperatures won't drop too low, staying between 11 and 15 degrees Celsius, with a light variable breeze. This makes for a mild and comfortable night across most of the island.
Looking Ahead: Wednesday 8th July
The good weather largely continues into Wednesday. The morning will be quite cloudy again, with those familiar mist and fog patches, plus some isolated drizzle in the northwest. However, just like today, the sunshine that begins in the southeast will gradually become more widespread throughout the morning and afternoon.
Again, the west and northwest coastal areas will likely remain cloudier. But for the rest of us, it's another very warm or even hot day, especially in the east and south. Highest temperatures are expected to be between 23 and 28 degrees Celsius, and locally, it might even climb a bit higher.
The north and west won't be quite as warm, with highs of 18 to 22 degrees, and light variable winds. So, if you're in Dublin or Cork, you're in for another hot day, while those in Donegal or Galway might have a slightly milder, cloudier experience.
The National Outlook: A Warm Week Ahead
The general forecast for the rest of the week and into the weekend is overwhelmingly positive. We're expecting a good deal of dry weather, with sunshine becoming more widespread as the days go on. It's going to get progressively warmer, or even hotter, especially in the south. Nights are also set to be warm and humid, which is great for those who enjoy evening strolls or dining outside.
Wednesday night: Expect a dry night with clear spells. Mist and fog will develop overnight, so be aware if you're out early on Thursday morning. It will be mild and humid, with temperatures not falling below 12 to 16 degrees. A light southwest or variable breeze will be present.
Thursday: This looks like a sunny and very warm day for the south and east, with any morning mist and fog clearing quickly. The west and north will remain cloudier, with a chance of isolated patches of light rain and drizzle. Temperatures will range from 20 degrees in the northwest up to 26 degrees in the southeast, with light southwesterly or variable winds.
Thursday night: Most places will be dry and clear. The northwest will stay cloudy, with some showers developing. Mist and fog will form in light winds. It will be very mild and humid, with temperatures staying between 13 and 16 degrees.
Friday: Another very warm or hot day is on the cards, though northwest coasts will be cooler. Connacht and west Ulster might start cloudy with a few heavy showers possible, but elsewhere will be dry with sunny spells that will become widespread. Highest temperatures will be from 21 degrees in the north to a scorching 28 degrees in the south, possibly even higher locally. Light to moderate northeast winds.
Saturday: Generally sunny and very warm or hot, with just a little patchy cloud. There's a chance of a few showers, but nothing major. Highest temperatures will be from 21 degrees in the north to 28 or 29 degrees in the south. Moderate northeast winds might make it feel a bit cooler near the coasts for those enjoying a seaside day.
Further Outlook: This warm spell is set to continue into Sunday and early next week, bringing generally dry and sunny conditions. Nights will remain warm and humid, adding to that summer feel. A few showers might pop up, but they shouldn't spoil the overall picture.
It seems like we're settling into a proper run of summer weather, which is fantastic news for anyone planning activities, holidays, or just wanting to enjoy the outdoors. Keep an eye on the latest updates from official sources like Met Éireann, but for now, the Ireland weather forecast is looking very encouraging indeed. Enjoy the warmth and sunshine!
