Kings of Leon Cancel UK and European Tour Dates Following Frontman’s Injury

Unexpected Injury Halts Summer Tour

American rock band Kings of Leon have announced the cancellation of their upcoming UK and European tour dates for June and July 2025. The decision comes after lead singer Caleb Followill suffered a significant injury, breaking his heel in what has been described as a “freak accident” while playing with his children. Followill underwent emergency surgery in Nashville and has been advised to avoid standing or traveling for approximately eight weeks.

In a video message to fans, Followill expressed his disappointment:

“Unfortunately, I regret to inform you that those shows will have to be cancelled due to a freak accident that happened the other day. I broke my foot pretty bad, just playing with my kids. It’s pretty gnarly. I’ll spare all the details.”

He added that the band had been eagerly preparing for the tour and were looking forward to debuting new music. Despite the setback, Followill assured fans that the band would continue working within his physical limitations during his recovery.

Impact on Scheduled Performances

The cancellation affects a series of performances across Europe, including headline slots at major festivals. Notably, the band’s scheduled appearances at Blackweir Fields in Cardiff and Lytham Festival in Lancashire have been called off. Organizers of Lytham Festival announced that they could not secure a replacement act and, as a result, the festival will now run for one less day.

Other affected shows include performances in Spain, Germany, Italy, Croatia, Switzerland, Belgium, and Portugal. Ticket holders for these events are advised to seek refunds from the respective event organizers.

Future Plans and Rescheduled Dates

Despite the cancellations, Kings of Leon have plans to resume touring later in the summer. Their next scheduled performance is set for July 18 in New Jersey, USA. The band also intends to return to the UK in late August for appearances at the Come Together Festival in Newcastle and the Victorious Festival in Portsmouth.

Fans are encouraged to stay updated through the band’s official channels for any further announcements regarding rescheduled dates or additional performances.

The unexpected injury to Caleb Followill has undoubtedly disrupted Kings of Leon’s summer tour plans, disappointing fans across Europe. However, the band’s commitment to their music and their audience remains steadfast. As Followill recovers, fans can look forward to future performances and the continued evolution of Kings of Leon’s musical journey.
