Met Éireann Overview
Thursday kicks off largely dry and sun-drenched, particularly across the west and north where temperatures are soaring into the high teens. However, a brisk easterly wind is already on the rise and will become a persistent feature as the day unfolds. In Munster and south Leinster, skies will turn grey by mid-afternoon with the chance of a few isolated showers popping up.
By this evening, expect increased cloud cover spreading northwards with patchy outbreaks of rain becoming more frequent. The west remains the warmest, while the east clings to cooler air due to the onshore breeze. Outdoor plans should be wrapped up early if you’re in the southern half of the country.
Tonight’s Forecast
Expect scattered outbreaks of showery rain, particularly in Munster and south Leinster. Ulster will see longer clear spells, offering a cooler but calmer night. Temperatures will dip to between 6 and 10 degrees, held up somewhat by the moderate to fresh easterly winds.
Looking Ahead
Friday is shaping up to be a mixed bag. Some sun is still expected, but a more widespread spell of rain is likely to push in, especially from the south and east. The warmest weather remains in the west, but even there the showers may finally catch up. Stay tuned for a full breakdown in tomorrow’s forecast.
