Sunstroke or Storm Clouds? Ireland’s Weather Is a Ticking Bomb
Ireland braces for its hottest day of the year so far—but it won’t come without risk. With sizzling highs of up to 25 degrees, it may feel like the Mediterranean, but behind the blue skies, unstable air threatens to bring sudden and potentially intense thunderstorms. Today’s weather is unpredictable, dramatic and definitely one to watch.

Ireland Weather Overview
Expect a mostly sunny day with hazy sunshine early on. Temperatures will soar, reaching between 19 and 24 degrees across most of the country and peaking at a potential 25 degrees in some inland areas. However, the heat won’t go unchecked. From the afternoon onward, showers will begin to develop, especially over the midlands and western counties. Some of these could be heavy and thundery.

Cloud will begin to increase in the northwest, bringing light rain or drizzle to parts of Connacht and Ulster. Lowest temperatures will range from 7 to 12 degrees, with light, variable winds shifting northerly in the north and west by dawn.
